UNM-LA News:

The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Power of Code, a new public art installation on campus.

The event is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, outside of Jeannette O. Wallace Hall.

The commissioned work, by Santa Fe artist Nicolas Gadbois, is a bas-relief set in a floating wall, surrounded by windows, on the east exterior wall of Jeannette O. Wallace Hall.

Gadbois and his piece were selected based on his proposal to capture a science, technology, engineering, mathematics and health (STEMH) theme that reflects the focus of academics found at UNM-LA.

The ceremony will include a brief presentation, where Gadbois will describe the inspiration behind his latest public work.

Parking is available on the west side of the UNM-LA campus accessed via 40th Street.

Light refreshments will be served.
