The United Church of Los Alamos is excited to begin its new children’s Sunday School program for kids ages Kindergarten-5th grade.

Bible Quest will use the Workshop Rotation Model of teaching whereby the major stories in the Bible are taught and reinforced over a 4 to 6 week time frame using various styles of learning such as drama, art, cooking, and more.

Pastor Keith Lewis and his team have been hard at work over the last 6 months preparing several rooms in the church’s education building and turning them into fun places where children will encounter the Bible in a new way.

“Bible Quest gives us the opportunity to emphasize the important points of a Bible story by having the children participate in a variety of activities over the course of a 4 to 6 week period. Instead of sitting in a chair during Sunday School, young people are active for almost the entire workshop time period. Art, Drama, Cooking and Storytelling are just a few of the fun activities meant to help children retain the highlights of the story,” Pastor Lewis said.

Bible Quest begins at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 in the Christian Education building at the United Church at 2525 Canyon Road. All children in the community are invited to join in this fun adventure.

The United Church of Los Alamos is a multi-denominational community of faith that has been in Los Alamos since 1947. More information can be found at: http://unitedchurchla.org.
