KokHeong McNaughton will hold a presentation “Bee City Los Alamos” at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos, 1738 North Sage St.
A Bee City is a pollinator-friendly community. Bee City USA is a nationwide program that supports pollinator conservation across the country.
For Los Alamos County to become a Bee City it would need to take actions such as limiting the use of harmful pesticides and herbicides, create an integrated pest management plan and have the County Council pass a Bee City resolution.
Besides bees, pollinators include flies, wasps, butterflies, moths, beetles, ants, birds and bats.
To help save native pollinators, come to the presentation and learn more.
