In December 2015, the UN accomplished an unbelievable task; 195 nations — almost the whole world — committed to the Paris Climate Accord. Seeing as how it is often difficult to be in accord with even one, loved person (e.g. spouse), this is truly incredible.
The United States of America brokered artfully crafted deals with China (2014) and India (2015) to pave the way to the worldwide agreement that had evaded diplomats for almost two decades since the 1997 Kyoto Protocol (not signed by the U.S.A.).
With the current U.S. President stating the intent to withdraw from this Accord, the U.S. is slipping from among the leaders to number 195 among the world’s nations.
Help celebrate United Nations Day by working to adopt the US climate commitments in the Paris Climate Accord in your home and our fair town, state and nation.
