SANTA FE — The Susan Eddings Pérez Gallery host 2 days of workshops featuring world acclaimed ceramist Brandon Reese.
Brandon Reese will host two days of workshops in the Susan Eddings Pérez Gallery from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13.
The Saturday workshop titled, Community Sculpture Workshop is open to all ages regardless of experience level. Participants will have a hands-on collaborative art experience as our community comes together to shape a collective ceramic sculpture. Each person will have the opportunity to create their own individual house sculpture which will become a part of a large community wall installation. The cost for this hands-on experience is $15 per person which includes a photo of the completed sculpture.
On Sunday, Behind-the-Scenes Artist Experience workshop includes a full-day experience with Brandon creating a large-scale sculpture. Throughout the day in this immersive, boutique-style setting, you will observe Brandon as he constructs a large-scale ceramic sculpture from the ground up, sharing the distinctive hand building techniques he uses in all his work. Participants will engage directly with Brandon, ask questions, and explore his unique approach to glazing, surface treatment, and firing. The cost for this workshop is $150 per person.

Brandon has worked with amazing sculptors including Jun Kaneko, Don Reitz, and Peter Voulkos. While in graduate school he focused on salt and wood firing to create unusual and varied surfaces. Upon graduation, Reese was hired as a Professor of its ceramic department which he expanded and enhanced during his tenure. His work has been shown and collected across Europe and Taiwan as well as in galleries across the United States.
In addition, Brandon has curated corporate and private commissioned work for high-profile collectors, celebrities, and clients. Several permanent museum collections include his work.
