Traffic Alert: DPU Repairing 15th At Myrtle May 22-23

Traffic Alert:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crew replaced a waterline last week.

The crew will be repairing the west side of 15th Street at Myrtle 8 a.m. until noon Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 and 15th Street will be reduced to one lane with a flagging operation to maintain north and south bound traffic. 

DPU officials advise motorists to expect delays and observe the speed limit and traffic control devices in the area.

About the DPU

The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water & wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. Board meetings are 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. Public in-person attendance is not permitted due to the public health emergency. Minimal county staff will be in attendance to present items and BPU members will be participating by phone. Public comment is encouraged via email at bpu@lacnm.us. Citizens are asked to type PUBLIC COMMENT in the subject line of the email. Within the body of the e-mail, individuals should include a name, address, whether the comment pertains to a specific item on the agenda, and the comment. Public comments about items will be accepted prior to the meeting, to be read into the meeting at the appropriate time. In addition, the e-mail address will be monitored during the meeting for comments to be received during the live proceedings and read into the record when the Chair calls for public comment.
