NMHS News:
Los Luceros Historic Site is offering a Ranger Walk ‘N Talk program on Wednesdays and Sundays guiding visitors through the site’s historic district this spring.
Visitors can join Interpretive Ranger Kara on a guided ranger tour through Los Luceros’ historic district this March and April to learn about the site and its buildings, including the Victorian Cottage, the plans for which were purchased from a catalogue by early owner Abel Lucero near the beginning of the 20th century.
Visitors will also tour the 19th century capilla, or chapel, which houses fantastic religious artwork by santera Clare Cresap Villa and learn about other interesting characters from the past who lived and worked on the property.
The tour is included with admission of $7/adults and free to New Mexico seniors and children 16 and younger. Note: The Hacienda is closed due to restoration, so the tour will not go inside the building.
When:
- Wednesdays, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2, 9, 16, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and
- Sundays, April 13, 20, 10:30-11 a.m.
