SANTA FE ― Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver will welcome Secretaries of State and Lieutenant Governors from 38 states and Puerto Rico to Santa Fe Sunday as the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) 2019 Summer Conference kicks off.
Secretary Toulouse Oliver serves on the NASS Executive Board as Treasurer and is the incoming President Elect.
“It’s an honor to host this year’s summer conference and to welcome Secretaries of State and Lieutenant Governors from all over the country here to New Mexico,” Secretary Toulouse Oliver said. “My staff and I are proud to host what is sure to be a dynamic and productive gathering. I hope all of my colleagues and their families who are attending will take time to enjoy Santa Fe and our enchanting state while they’re here.”
The conference runs June 30 to July 3 and includes committee meetings, panel discussions and workshops on a variety of topics like election administration, cybersecurity, business services and communications. An expo featuring 25 private-sector companies and vendors also will take place during the conference featuring their products and services.
NASS was founded in 1904 and is the oldest non-partisan professional organization of public officials in the United States. It serves as a medium for the exchange of information between states and fosters cooperation in the development of public policy.
