Los Alamos Hilltoppers narrowly lost against the Santa Fe High Demons Tuesday in a home game. In the first inning, the guests scored two runs. The top of the second ended with the guests dropping the ball trying to get #7 (Jarret Genero) out, but a bad call was made and Genero was the third out, ending that first half.

In the top of the second, #2 (Jake Rutten) pitched a fastball, and Santa Fe made a home run. In the bottom of the second, #13 (Connor Mang) made a double off of an error. He stole third, and while #17 (Kyle Hutton) hit a single up the middle, Mang ran home.

By the top of the third, Santa Fe was up 4-1. The Toppers made a comeback and scored two runs from hits by #15 (Travis Gonzales) and #12 (Vince Marciano).

No more runs were made by either side until the bottom of the sixth when Rutten made a run that tied the game at 4-4. In the top of the 7th, the Demons made a run to 5, but by the bottom, Genero hit a long single, bringing Mang home. This tied the game at 5-5.

At this point they are neck-in-neck, looking more and more aggressive. In the 8th inning, the Santa Fe Demons make their final run, and no more runs were made in the 9th. The Demons won after a very close game, ending with the score at 5-6.
