Coaches Summary: The Jaguars from Capital made the trip up the hill Tuesday night to play the Toppers of Los Alamos. All three sets were tightly contested. The Jaguars jumped out to early leads in the first and second sets and the Topper hitters had to settle in and find their “groove”.
The Topper back row was solid for the majority of the night offering up excellent receive and digging balls to keep their Junior setter Angelina Passalacqua with the ability to offer the front row many opportunities.
Both Libero Anna Kirkland and DS Shyanne Garcia had strong showings in the back row. Once Hannah Bergemann, Ashley Hammond and Michelle Macias got in the flow they were able to begin putting away balls. Both Middles for LA contributed, Callie Goda on offense and Solenne Thelliez on the net putting up strong blocks.
The Toppers will have a quick turnaround as they head to Rio Rancho for a two-day tournament.
