The Academy Invitational Tournament was held April 12-13, 2024 in Albuquerque, with 9 varsity teams participating from around the state. The boys placed second overall clinching several impressive wins along the way. The boys also became the first team to win matches against Albuquerque Academy this season. The girls won key matchups including Sofia Parra’s defeat of the Academy top seed Michelle Deng 7-6 (ret).

The boys were undefeated in their group stage, winning their ties 9-0 against both Hope Christian and Eldorado. They beat Robertson 8-1 in the final stage round robin and fell 3-6 to Academy. Aditya Viswanathan (b Austin Curtis 1-6, 6-4, 10-3), Michael Witkowski (b Quinn Douangpanya 6-3, 6-2) and Cam Mc Donald (b Luka Mesiti 6-4, 4-6, 10-8) put the Toppers on the board in the battle for first place.

Sofia Parra, Nailah Quartey, Sabrina Kelley, Tessa Lemke, Olivia Hamilton, Caris Hatler, Lucia Rudin and Lily Viteva represented the Lady Toppers.

Pool play for the District championships start April 19 and continue through the rest of the month. Matches will be played in Taos and Sante Fe.
