Toppers Knocked Out Of State Tournament

As the Toppers volleyball team prepares to take to the court Thursday evening for their game against the Hope Christian Huskies in the State Volleyball Tournament played in the Santa Anna Star Center, they had only one thing on their minds … to beat the Huskies. The Toppers entered the tournament with a 7-1 record in district and 13-9 over all and as the number 5 seed for the tournament, which is a very good record. Their first games were in pool play to establish seeding for the tournament. The Toppers had four games in pool play, but emerged 1-3, which meant they would have to play another game to get to the championship bracket to be played the following day. They would have to beat the Huskies to progress to the championship rounds. The huskies were seeded #5. The game went to five sets and into extra points before the Huskies won 3-2 and the Toppers were eliminated. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
