Toppers Girls Soccer Places Second At State Playoffs

The Los Alamos Topper Girls soccer team places second Thursday at the State Championship playoffs at the Bernalillo Soccer Complex. The Toppers lost the title to the Albuquerque Academy Chargers 2-1. These two teams have met at the State Championship game many times in the past and this was the Chargers year to win. The game went into two overtimes and in the last minute of the last overtime, Eliza Mariner found the net for the Chargers win. Both teams played their best game with strong defense by both. The game was an action-packed, clean game. Photo by John McHale/dailypostcom
