Toppers Defeat Moriarty Pintos In District Opener

The Toppers started district play with a big win over the Moriarty Pintos in Griffith Gym Thursday night. After a slow start the coach, Benito Maestas, called a time out and that changed the game for the Toppers who came out and played the best game they have put together this season winning 70-48. The Toppers dominated the game with an aggressive offense and a strong defense. They scored from all over the court with 8-3’s and converting most of their free-throws. On defense the Toppers blocked shots, stole the ball and caused turnovers which took the Pintos out of the game. Every player was a contributor.
