Topper Girls Volleyball Win Match Over Taos 3-0

The Hilltoppers came out swinging (literally) Tuesday night against the Taos Tigers. The Toppers had 39 Kills and 15 Blocks for points. Los Alamos also excelled from the service line tallying only 5 service errors vs. 13 aces on the night. The Back Row only had 6 service errors and 5 dig errors. This coupled with 25 ‘3’ ball passes set the stage for a great evening. Elise Olivas played a fabulous game on defense and made solid decisions on offense to facilitate this win. Natalie Gallegos led the way with 24 Kills on 38 attempts with only 2 errors. Eden Schmierer had 7 Kills on 22 attempts with only 2 errors. The top servers for the night were Gracie Swensen with 4 aces and 20 points on serve and Ariel Edkin with 4 aces and 7 points on serve. The entire Los Alamos team continues to place emphasis on serves and it shows. This coupled with the staple of block and pound ball makes them a real dilemma for teams. Los Alamos takes its show on the road next Tuesday in Pojoaque. Pictured is Natalie Gallegos making one of her 24 spike-kills as Elise Olivas backs her up. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
