The Los Alamos High School Topper girls varsity soccer team opened their 2022 season with a decisive 10-0 win over Socorro High School.

Tara McDonald had four goals, Laila Carter added three while Isabelle Atencio, Marlee Katko and Dayja Fellers each picked up one.

Carter also tallied three assists and Katko added two in addition to Fellers, MacKenzie Echave, Meredith Brown and Moorea Montano adding one a piece.

Tough defense led by Echave, Brown, Jenna Montoya and Carley Holland kept Socorro off the scoreboard. Goalkeeper Mika Stanfield was credited with four saves.

The Toppers kick off their home season with St. Michael’s High School 4 p.m. today at Sullivan Field.
