At 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, Taos Ski Valley’s Bavarian Restaurant in coordination with the organizers of the Taos Solar Music Festival present an intimate evening with musician William Topley at the “Sustainable Sunday Dinners: Farm to Mountain to Table” summer finale event.

The eight week “Sustainable Sunday Dinners: Farm to Mountain to Table,” which began July 15, is held at The Bavarian in Taos Ski Valley every Sunday in July and August. The weekly event consists of a three course, locally grown, seasonally inspired farm-to-table dinner hosted by local farmers. The Bavarian is the highest altitude restaurant in Northern New Mexico.

Dinners are “paired” with a number of outstanding speakers, locally and nationally recognized for their work in strengthening the economic livelihoods of local farming, while building connections between local markets and schools, and educating the public.

A partial list of upcoming growers include:

  • Aug. 3 – Benji Apodaca, of the Taos High School Culinary Arts;
  • Aug. 10 – Bernadette Lucero, of Rio Culebra; and
  • Aug. 17 – Karen Todd, of Dragonfly Cafe.

5:30 p.m., Aug. 24: The grand finale dinner with William Topley. The cost is $50 (plus tax) for the dinner and show or $25 for the show only. Musical performance begins at 7:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit thebavarian.com/farm-mountain-table.php.

As described by Allmusic.com, musician William Topley is a deep-voiced British vocalist with a taste for the bluesy sound of America’s deep south and influenced by the Caribbean rhythms of Jamaican reggae.
