COMMUNITY News:

Live in Los Alamos will present musician Tony Kamel Thursday, Sept. 28 at SALA. Event Center. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. A pizza dinner will be available from SALA as well as beer and wine from Bathtub Row.

The first time Kamel was in Los Alamos he was leading his Grammy-nominated band, Wood and Wire, through two scorching sets of bluegrass music in front of a packed audience in Fuller Lodge.

Kamel’s band didn’t survive the COVID pandemic, but his creativity never ceased. Last year he released his first solo album, winning plenty of acclaim, most notably from American Highways, a mainstay website for those who follow Americana music. He won many local fans touring behind that same album last year while playing to a triple digit crowd at Fuller Lodge. This time around Kamel will visit the town’s newest event venue.

Those wanting to avoid the on-line fee can purchase tickets (cash or check only) at the Los Alamos Schools Credit Union for $40 for a sofa seat, or $25 for general admission. If still available, tickets will be $30 at the door.

A glimpse of what fans can expect on Sept. 28 is available by searching Tony Kamel’s Paste Studio session on YouTube. Fewer tickets are available for this show than many Live in Los Alamos Shows, so regulars are encouraged to buy early. Others are invited to join those regulars to support a live music scene in Los Alamos and enjoy the opportunity provided by Pueblos Canyon Inn, Anthony Belletete CPA LLC, and many locals who help support year-round live music in Los Alamos.
