This Week at the Reel Deal

We finally got a print of American Hustle which we will open Friday. It has a stellar cast and is getting great reviews, and has seven Golden Globe nominations. Do check out the trailer on one of the websites.

Guess what film is number two in the nation this week – Frozen. That’s kind of strange after it’s been out for six or seven weeks. Well I’m not going to argue with the numbers and we are still getting requests. So guess what? We’re bringing it back for a one week run this Friday.

For those of you who do not like 3D, you’re in luck. All shows will be 2D as we are showing it on our last 35mm projector. We originally wanted to play The Wolf of Wall St., but Paramount said, “no more film!” It’s only digital from here on out, so we will have to wait until one of our other digital projectors is free before we can play Wall St.

The other studios will soon follow suit and will not be producing film any longer. It is truly the end of an era, so if anyone would like to see one of the last 35mm projectors in action, just ask our manager and they will be happy to show you.

We will be holding Saving Mr. Banks, and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug for another week.

Coming attractions include: The Wolf of Wall St., Philomena, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, LEGO, The Monuments Men, Nebraska, Lone Survivor, and Her.

The Golden Globe Awards will be aired Sunday evening, Jan. 12.

Don’t forget, if it’s your birthday, the movie of your choice is free. January is shaping up to be a great month for the movies. I hope to see you there.
