This Week at the Reel Deal

This Friday, we will be opening The Monuments Men, The Lego Movie, and August: Osage County.

We will hold Labor Day for another week.

I tried again this week to get Philomena which was promised to me and I in turn promised to you, but the studio is still holding out hoping the Oscars will breathe new life into the film with a possible Academy Award for Meryl Streep. Then they will ask for a longer run. Regardless, we are still going to show it soon.

August: Osage County, starring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Abigail Breslin, and Ewan McGregor, tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.

Osage County will most likely be only a one-week run at the Reel Deal as we have many films we need to play, so please come and see it, I think you will enjoy it. It’s in no way a money maker for us but we booked it to round-out our audience and provide our discerning adults in Los Alamos with some very fine acting.

Letts’ play made its Broadway debut in December 2007 after premiering at Chicago’s legendary Steppenwolf Theatre earlier that year. It continued with a successful international run.

Coming attractions include: Philomena, Robo Cop, Winter’s Tale, 300: Rise of an Empire, Son of God, Mr. Peabody and Sherman 3D.

Do not trust other websites for Reel Deal Theater movie times as they are often incorrect and we’ve been getting a lot of confused patrons lately who use these random sites including Google.

For correct showtimes, visit our website www.reeldealtheater.com or use the Los Alamos Daily Post listings for showtimes.
