A new community tradition was lighting up Los Alamos and White Rock this past holiday season. The Los Alamos Christmas Lights Map was alive, inviting families to experience the simple joy of driving through town, admiring all the holiday displays.
The idea for the Los Alamos Christmas Lights Map began with Isaiah Garcia of The Maupin Group at RE/MAX First, who partnered with LA Cares, a local nonprofit that provides food and rent assistance to local families. The goal was to create something joyful that also gives back to our community.
“Meeting the board and volunteers at LA Cares was truly special. You can feel how deeply they care about our community, and I am grateful we are able to contribute and support their mission,” Garcia said. “We will be back next year, and better than ever. Last year was the trial run, this year was the proof, next year is when we solidify and excel. Do not forget about us!”
Our community really came through for this project. Local businesses stepped forward with donations to support LA Cares, with many more showing their support by showcasing the project in their stores and bringing more awareness to this wonderful nonprofit. Our team drove every street in Los Alamos and White Rock, marking homes decorated with Christmas displays and creating a perfect map to guide families during last holiday season. Beyond highlighting beautiful decorations, the Los Alamos Christmas Lights Map reflects the heart of the season: generosity, connection, and community pride. It brings together local businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and residents in a shared celebration of the holidays and a shared commitment to caring for one another.
This event was able to raise $1,115. The map had 1,055 different points and over 950 views. Every point was categorized to allow viewers to pick exactly what they wanted to see.
