The Family YMCA will host its Annual Gala, 5-9 p.m., Saturday, May 16, at La Fonda on the Plaza. This year’s theme, The Fabric of Community, celebrates the people, families and partners who strengthen Northern New Mexico every day.

The evening will feature a silent and live auction with local art and unique experiences, along with live entertainment from local favorite band Felix Y Los Gatos. Guests are invited to wear something that reflects their personal connection to the community—their story, passion or impact.

Proceeds support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, ensuring access to programs for youth, teens, families and seniors. In 2025, the Y served 3,686 youth, nearly 1,000 adults and seniors, and provided $132,000 in scholarships to remove financial barriers.

Funds raised will expand youth and teen programs, provide safe spaces like teen centers, support families with childcare, and keep seniors active and connected.

The evening will conclude with dancing as Felix Y Los Gatos take the stage—bringing everyone together to celebrate the many threads that make up our community, woven into one strong fabric.

“At the Y, we’re building more than programs—we’re building community,” CEO Chris Daniels said. “This night celebrates what we can do together.”
