TCF News:

The Compassionate Friends Chapter of Los Alamos County meets 7-8:30 p.m., the fourth Tuesday of the month in the new YMCA Annex in Central Park Square at Nectar and 15th Street in Los Alamos (Suite 140 on the northeast side of Central Park Square.)

The August meeting is  Aug. 27. The organization offers grief support after the death of a child.

Bereaved parents and grandparents are welcome at TCF meetings, regardless of age. The Los Alamos Chapter is co-led by Eric Ferm and Valerie Wood. Questions can be answered by emailing the Los Alamos Chapter at CompassionateFriendsLosAlamos@gmail.com.

According to Simon Stephens, the founder of TCF, “The Compassionate Friends is about transforming the pain of grief into the elixir of hope. It takes people out of the isolation society imposes on the bereaved and lets them express their grief naturally. With the shedding of tears, healing comes. And the newly bereaved get to see people who have survived and are learning to live and love again.”

“Chapter meetings are, above all, safe places where thoughts and feelings can be freely expressed, and where all participants can find care and friendship,” he said.
