SALA Los Alamos Event Center has announced the highly anticipated premiere of the documentary “The Atomic Rocketeer” co-directed by Larry L. Sheffield, at the upcoming Oppenheimer Festival 2024.

This groundbreaking film unveils the untold story of Wernher von Braun and his team of German rocketeers, whose work laid the foundation for America’s space program.

The festival will run Aug. 10-31, 2024, featuring exclusive events, screenings and Q&A sessions with the award-winning producer/director Sheffield.

“The Atomic Rocketeer” sheds light on von Braun’s efforts to develop rocket technology during WWII and the subsequent secret mission, “Operation Paperclip”, which brought these advancements to the United States.

Sheffield and co-director Trent DiGiulio have garnered 22 national and international film festival awards for their work, including “Best Historical Film” for 2023 at the Cannes World Film Festival. Their use of rare footage, photographs, de-classified military documents, and compelling interviews make “The Atomic Rocketeer” a must-see for history enthusiasts and film buffs alike.
