Taos Air News:

Beginning July 1, Taos Air will restart its roundtrip air service offering direct flights to and from Austin–Bergstrom International, Dallas Love Field, Hawthorne Municipal Airport in Los Angeles, and McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad.

Taos Air will deliver much-needed economic support to Northern New Mexico by opening opportunities to diversify the local economy with the film, outdoor recreation, and hospitality industries, among others.

Following a successful winter 2019-2020 season, Taos Air went on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the state re-emerges from the pandemic, Taos Air will once again help support the area’s businesses while also offering an accessible and simple option for New Mexicans to visit California and Texas.

Taos Air is a much more convenient experience than traditional commercial flights because of the ease of parking, simplified check-in, and reduced airport congestion that comes with a boutique charter service. Additionally, Taos Air offsets 100 percent of its carbon impact, making it the world’s first carbon-neutral airline.

“Taos Air is one valuable component in the larger plan to bolster Northern New Mexico’s economic  growth and recovery,” Dan Barrone said, Mayor of Town of Taos. “In addition to giving New Mexicans  options for travel, Taos Air will help re-establish seasonal visitation and support the growth of new  industries such as film and television. The airline generates jobs and tax revenue, and helps support  existing businesses that rely on the visitor economy.”

The continuation of Taos Air is the result of a collaborative effort by the Enchanted Circle Council of Governments (ECCoG), an inter-governmental group focused on promoting and enhancing regional economic development.

Summer service will consist of twice weekly service from each city to Taos between July 1 – September 27. Taos Air will also offer service for the winter 2021-22 ski season; the booking window will open up later this summer.

Tickets can be booked via TaosAir.com or by calling 833.359.8267 (FLYTAOS).
