STATE News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico Superintendent of Insurance Russell Toal issued the following statement regarding announcement that New Mexico Health Connections is closing its doors.

“Today, New Mexico Health Connections announced that it plans to close its doors Jan. 1, 2021.

“Individuals and families enrolled in a Health Connections plan will be able to maintain their coverage through the end of 2020 and have their service claims paid. We thank Health Connections for its years of participation in the health insurance marketplace.

Even with the departure of Health Connections, this fall New Mexico will have more health insurers offering plans in the marketplace than ever before. Premiums have remained stable across the state and the Office of Superintendent of Insurance has worked diligently to ensure rates are fair and that plans are of value to New Mexicans.

“OSI encourages New Mexicans to actively shop for a health plan during the upcoming Open Enrollment Period (November 1st – December 15th) to get the best deal on a plan that meets your family’s needs. You can use beWellnm’s Plan Comparison Tool to window shop and select a qualified health plan once the Open Enrollment Period begins. Visit bewellnm.com to find free enrollment assistance.”
