Back-to-school is a great time of year for parents, but some have a hard time with–it: those who can’t afford school supplies for their kids.
Los Alamos Christian Church at 92 East Road is hoping to help lift that load.
For the second consecutive year, Los Alamos High School graduate Victoria Hypes is hosting a luncheon to raise money to buy school supplies to donate to the schools. The lunch will feature pulled pork, corn and coleslaw, with brownies and cupcakes for dessert, along with a vegetarian option.
Pastor Doug Partin will tell his famous stories as he does for the elementary school kids in town, and Hypes has made up a fun back-to-school quiz for the adults.
Lunch is free. but donations will help parents purchase needed school supplies.
The event will start after the Sunday service, which will be approximately noon. All are welcome.
