STEP UP News:

The 2025 All Schools Student Art Show opens with a bang on Thursday. The public is invited to the opening reception, with refreshments sponsored by Los Alamos Schools Credit Union, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday in Step Up Gallery on the third floor of Mesa Public Library.

The All Schools Student Art Show showcases the work of hundreds of Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) students ranging from PreK through high school seniors. Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library hosts this exhibit, which runs to March 12. The Gallery will be filled floor-to-ceiling with art.

Students create work in every art medium – clay, weaving, drawing, photography, digital arts, painting, sculpture, fused glass and more. Many of the classes re-use materials such as cardboard and yarn – even coffee filters find new life as art. Students get to experience the joy of creativity, with the guidance of their teachers. Seen all together, the exhibit looks like an explosion of color and enthusiasm.

Step Up Gallery (https://stepupgallery.org) is on the top level of Mesa Public Library at 2400 Central Ave. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
