New Economic Impact Study Released On New Mexico Film Incentive Program 2020 Through 2021

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) and the New Mexico Film Office have released and presented a new economic impact study on New Mexico’s film and television industry.

The independent study, commissioned by the New Mexico Film Office, was completed by Olsberg SPI an international creative industries consultant firm specializing in the global screen sector.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Nov. 24: 1,409 New Cases, Totaling 308,091 With 21 New Deaths And 261,131 Recovered

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,409 new COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.2 percent.

Los Alamos County reports 7 new cases today bringing the total to 901  people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 21 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

Record Number Of Teachers In New Mexico Supported Under Debt Relief Program Administered By Higher Education Dept.

SANTA FE — More than 600 New Mexico teachers will have their student debt burden reduced thanks to the state’s Teacher Loan Repayment Program administered by the New Mexico Higher Education Department.

The Teacher Loan Repayment program pays up to $6,000 per year for two years toward outstanding federal student loan debt and interest for licensed New Mexico teachers working in high-need areas and schools.
