State Cautions New Mexicans Of Unlicensed Carnival Ride And Bounce House Operators

NMRLD News:

SANTA FE The New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department is cautioning New Mexicans to be wary of unlicensed carnival ride and bounce house operators.

“With the carnival and summer season upon us, it is imperative to consumer safety that our operators are licensed,” NMRLD Superintendent Marguerite Salazar said. “Please call us before you hire a carnival, amusement ride, or bounce house operator, to verify that they meet our strict safety standards.”

The State of New Mexico requires that licensed operators conduct daily inspections, receive an annual NAARSO inspection, receive annual certification and carry liability insurance of at least three million dollars in aggregate.

Questions regarding the safe operation of popular inflatables like bounce houses and various amusement rides should be directed to the executive director at (505).476.4853 or by email at paulina.Robinson@state.nm.us.

The Regulation and Licensing Department’s mission is to ensure that New Mexicans receive quality care and services from qualified professionals. The department licenses more than 425,000 licensees in 35 different industries, professions, and trades.

The agency’s consumer safety efforts touch the everyday activities of all New Mexicans and promote a fair and prompt administrative process to spur economic development. Always here and ready to serve, the Regulation and Licensing Department can be contacted online at www.rld.state.nm.us.
