SANTA FE — The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) today launched a new website for parents and employers to access the state’s child support program.
YES.NM.GOV makes it easier for parents and guardians to complete child support applications and manage their cases. YES.NM.GOV also makes it easier for employers to assist parents with their child support obligations.
The new user-friendly and customer-oriented website was built based on direct feedback from parents and employers participating in the program. Parents and guardians can manage their support payments, make case updates and upload documents on the website. The mobile friendly portal provides customers personalized information about application status, case access, case updates, payment details and access to an interactive chat for customer support.
The new website also offers employers an easy-to-use dashboard to manage child support obligations for all their employees in one spot. Employers play a big role in supporting families who are part of the child support program as 60 percent of payments are made through withholdings.
“The addition of child support services to YES.NM.GOV is an exciting step in the overall vision of creating a simplified, mobile friendly website that enables all New Mexicans to apply for, access and manage their benefits and services more efficiently,” Kari Armijo said, acting cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Human Services Department. “Each step of the way we have tested the website with New Mexicans who will use it — the feedback we received from our customers was incorporated to meet the needs of those we serve.”
“Eighty four percent of HSD customers prefer to apply and manage their benefits online,” Betina Gonzales McCracken said, HSD’s Child Support Enforcement Division Acting Director. “We are excited to bring these new online features and functionality to child support customers and employers to better serve their needs.”
The launch of the Child Support site is Phase 2 of the YES.NM.GOV project. HSD’s Behavioral Health Services Division launched YES.NM.GOV Phase 1 in July 2022. HSD will continue to add services and programs to the website throughout 2023.
