Claudia Reidys is about to celebrate her 13th anniversary at Enterprise Bank & Trust.

During a recent interview in her office, Reidys spoke about what she likes best about her work.

“The interaction with the customers is my greatest joy,” Reidys said. “Many of my customers I have helped more than once over the years. I truly strive to develop strong relationships with my clients through communication and care … and I believe in setting realistic expectations and providing timely follow up.”

Reidys also spoke about the bank merger with Enterprise and Los Alamos National Bank.

“It was a bit of a challenge as change often is, but change also is an opportunity to stay fresh,” she said.

Los Alamos Region President Liddie Martinez addressed Reidys’ performance on the job.

“Claudia is a stellar performer,” Martinez said. “Her steady attention to detail and empathetic approach to customer service has provided outstanding results for her clients, who consistently rate her at the 5 Star level.”

Reidys moved to New Mexico in 1996 and joined LANB in October of 2006. She started as a processor and was promoted in October of 2010 to loan officer.

“I have seen a lot of change in the mortgage industry and the bank since I started,” Reidys said. “I experienced the tail end of the housing boom and then the financial meltdown crisis of 2007 and 2008, with the resulting refinance boom once rates came down and refinance programs with reduced qualification requirements were introduced.”

Reidys explained that in contrast to the last three years, she now has a strong loan team behind her again to help process, underwrite, close and fund loans. That team consists of bank staff in Santa Fe and in St. Louis.

“And our origination fee was always competitive but has been further reduced,” she said. “We have reintroduced a short term – up to 10 years – fixed rate second mortgage as an alternative to the home equity line of credit. And mortgage rates have come down in 2019; if you purchased your home in a period of higher interest rates, for example 2018, or just generally have not looked at your mortgage options in a while, I would recommend that you do so. I am always happy to explore options to improve your mortgage financing.”

Reidys said that she has always been proud of the bank’s community involvement. She has volunteered at many Los Alamos events such as ChamberFest, the Kite Festival, ScienceFest, the summer concerts, Senior Luncheon.

“Enterprise Bank & Trust has continued this long tradition of community involvement and I am very happy they do,” she said.

Reidys holds a degree in Translation Studies (Spanish/English) from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. She has two sons in college and said in her spare time she enjoys visiting national parks and historic sites and traveling in the United States and internationally.
