BLM: Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument To Change Hours

BLM News:
ALBUQUERQUE — The Bureau of Land Management and the Pueblo de Cochiti have announced a change in hours for the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in an effort to better manage the resources of the monument, protect its fragile formations, and ease staffing shortages. 
Entry into the monument will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the monument closing to visitors at 5 p.m.
During the summer months, the monument experiences increased visitation.

Hilltopper Baseball Falls To Hope Christian Huskies

The Hilltopper baseball team played the second home game of the new season Thursday at Bomber Field on North Mesa. This time they played the Hope Christian Huskies, a premier class 4a team from Albuquerque.  For the first five innings the teams played more or less even until the Huskies hit a two-run home run. That opened a gap that the Toppers were unable to close and lost the contest 1-5. Jacob Rutten was the lead off pitcher. He had nine strikeouts before being relieved at the end of the fifth inning. To all Los Alamos area friends and supporters ... the 1st ever Topper Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, presented by the Class of ‘98 is now open for registration.


The event is July 7 in Los Alamos as part of the Class of ‘98 reunion activities.


This specific activity is open to the public and proceeds from the event will benefit the LAPS Foundation.

VADITO  This Saturday, Sipapu Ski Resort hosts its annual spring competition, the 15th Annual Cardboard Derby, Sipapu’s most popular family-friendly competition. Saturday, March 10, guests race their hand-built cardboard vessels down the mountain for a chance to win one of dozens of great prizes.
Guests build their own vessel using only cardboard, duct tape, string or twine, and paint. Then they race down the mountain on Saturday for a chance to win prizes.

Hilltopper Baseball Earns Victory In Home Game
