Registration For Annual July 4 Firecracker 5K Family Fun Run/Walk Now Open

YMCA News:

Registration is open for The Family YMCA’s annual Firecracker 5K Family Fun Run that will be held Monday, July 4. The 5K is open to all ages who want to walk, run, or jog in this festive event.

Prizes will go to the top male and female finishers in Kid, Youth, Adult, Adult 60+, Stroller (with a kid), and Dog Jogger. All participants will get the annual Fun Run t-shirt and are eligible to win one of many great door prizes.

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation (LAPSF) announces Ryan Aldaz as the winner of the Larry Baca Memorial Scholarship this year. This scholarship is awarded to students who have participated in track or cross country at Los Alamos High School.

The scholarship is named for Larry Baca, a renowned coach in Los Alamos for 30 years and member of the Los Alamos High School Hall of Fame and New Mexico Coaches Hall of Fame. The Los Alamos Youth Soccer League (LAYSL) 05/06/07 Pumas were crowned Champions of the Boys U-17 age group at the 2022 Durango Shootout Tournament. The 27th Annual Durango Shootout was held May 20-22.
