Pastor Granillo: Embracing The Big Picture

By Pastor RAUL GRANILLO
Los Alamos

I can relate to poor ol’ Peter in the Bible. He means well but has a tendency of putting his foot in his mouth at all the wrong times. I think I relate to him because I see so many of us “regular folk” in his methods and in his heart. He loves Jesus, he knows Jesus is the Messiah, he anticipates all the great things that are being done through Jesus; but when Jesus tells him something that doesn’t fit into his picture of what God is supposed to do, Peter actually pulls Him aside and rebukes Him! (Mark 8:31-32).

Can you imagine hearing God say one thing and then you pull Him to the Read More

Pastor Granillo: The Bigger Picture

The Bigger Picture

A.W. Tozer once said, “The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.”

In the same way that a puzzle’s picture cannot be fully seen without all of the pieces, the scriptures in the Bible cannot be fully understood unless they are in context with the rest of the Bible.

Paul tells Timothy that the holy Scriptures, “are able to make you wise for salvation Read More

Driven

Every once in a while we get the opportunity to take a real look into this world. And, even if only for an instant, we see how many people there are that need someone to shine a light into their lives.

Every once in a while we see a glimpse of a smile from a face that we thought was chiseled into a frown by experiences of war, loss, poverty, disappointment and fear. And, every once in a while, we allow God to light our hearts with the Holy Spirit’s loving fire and ignite a passion in us that drives us to engage in whatever it takes to bring light and hope to every human being Read More
