The Bradbury Science Museum is offering something a little different this season with hands-on STEM education fun for the whole family at High-Tech Halloween, 4-6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 27, at the museum at 1450 Central Ave.
The Northern New Mexico community is invited, costumes are encouraged and activities are both eerie and educational. High-Tech Halloween is part of Los Alamos’s annual Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet. Both events are free.
Also in October, the Bradbury’s auditorium is showing the new documentary “Oppenheimer: Science, Mission, Legacy”, produced by Los Alamos National Laboratory’s National Security Research Center. The film includes interviews with experts and Oppenheimer-related materials from the NSRC’s unclassified collections, much of which has never been shared publicly before. Want to watch at home? Operated by Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Bradbury’s exhibits document the science of the Lab’s 80-year history from the Manhattan Project to advances in supercomputing, nuclear nonproliferation, biotechnology and climate science. The museum is free and open to the public, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
