NMWC News:

ESPANOLA Bring the family to play and explore the wild world 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 at New Mexico Wildlife Center.

Admission is free for the entire family.

The event begins with live family-friendly music by award-winning children’s musician Andy Mason (andymasonmusic.org). Offering songs in English and Spanish, Andy will have kids and adults dancing and singing along while learning something, too.

The day continues with ongoing, fun and wild hands-on activities involving feathers, bird beaks, animal tracks, and more. Make origami animals, have your face painted, get advice on feeding birds, and build your own bird feeder.

Also, local snake expert Tom Wyant will provide a snake identification training designed for kids! Hear about wildlife education programs that NMWC provides throughout the year. Everyone will have the chance to see wild Animal Ambassadors and meet some of them close-up as well.

This FREE event is designed for kids and their families to have fun together learning about wildlife. Snacks will be available, and bringing your own picnic is encouraged. For questions, call 505.753.9505, or email dawn@newmexicowildlifecenter.org.

Come discover NMWC, a great community resource! It’s a place to bring family, friends, community groups, and visitors from afar; a place where sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals get a second chance to live in the wild; a place that provides wildlife education in and out of the classroom; a place that is not just a place – it is the point of connection between people and wildlife for an abundant tomorrow.

New Mexico Wildlife Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funded primarily through individual donations and grants. Located at 19 Wheat Street in Espanola, it is open to the public Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Visit online: www.newmexicowildlifecenter.org.
