Kreig Peterson, owner of In Touch Medical Massage, offers his patients relief from pain.

“I work extremely hard to give my clients the best massage they have ever had,” he said.

Peterson is certified in multiple massage modalities that promote relaxation and pain relief, plus, he is the only certified medical massage therapist in town. Just what is medical massage? Peterson explained, “Many people go through life experiencing muscle pain needlessly. Medical massage is specifically designed to provide powerful pain relief for suffering clients.

“I also train clients how to stay out of pain or greatly reduce their pain giving them a better quality of life.”

Peterson has been a massage therapist for four years. He moved his business, at 2610 Trinity Dr., Suite 16, to Los Alamos in 2012. Peterson explained he decided to bring his massage business to Los Alamos to be closer to family.

Potential benefits of massage

  • Massage, by offering a sustained, intentional, caring form of tactile stimulation, is one of the best ways to impart emotional reassurance.

  • Massage helps restore calm and balance.

  • Massage can relieve painful muscle tension that can sap your energy.

  • Massage improves circulation and rids the body of metabolic waste products that can make you feel tired and sore.

  • Massage improves appearance and increases healthy functioning of your skin.

  • Movement, muscular contraction and massage therapy are the ways lymph fluid is most effectively moved throughout the body because the lymph system has no pump of its own.

  • Massage can help you get back “in touch” with your body. This is especially true after a surgery or other traumatic body/mind experience.

  • Massage aids in recovery from work out or muscle soreness.

  • Massage feels good!
