Nov. 26 is Small Business Saturday and an opportunity for the community to show its support by visiting and shopping at local small businesses.

Blue Window Bistro owner Melissa Paternoster was born and raised in Los Alamos and she wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!

“Being the owner of the restaurant, and being a hands-on owner, I have been so fortunate over the last six years to get to know so many of our residents,” she said. “So many of our customers have become friends and family over the last six years; not only for me, but for my staff as well!”

This December marks 6.5 years that Paternoster has owned the Blue Window in Mari-Mac Plaza – and more than 35 years that the Blue Window has been serving this community.

“Our current location at 813 Central Ave., is the third location for the restaurant, and in January, we will be moving to our forth location, she said. “Until then, we are still serving the community in our current location.”

Paternoster said that in her current location, she will be offering her annual 3-course Christmas Eve dinner as well as her New Years Eve 5 course dinner (a Blue Window tradition for more than 15 years).

“We will be offering private catered events at our new location throughout the month of December, as well as a wine tasting and evening of live music,” she said. “We currently have 23 employees, and hope to grow to close to 40 by the New Year.”
