SKI News:
Known as the New Mexico ski resort that is first to open and last to close, Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort will once again achieve that status for the 14th consecutive year. The last weekend for operations is this Saturday and Sunday.
Ski for a great cause! Sipapu is offering FREE lift tickets Saturday and Sunday with a donation of any amount to the La Jicarita Food Basket, a local organization dedicated to stopping hunger in Northern New Mexico. All donations will be taken at the Ticket Office in exchange for a free lift ticket.
This weekend, lifts 1 and 2 turn 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 15 trails open, and the Don Diego Terrain Park with six features. The ski school, rental shop and Riverside Café will follow normal hours. Sipapu received five inches of snow earlier this week, just in time to freshen up the slopes for closing weekend.
Sipapu opened Nov. 19, 2016 and has received more snow this season than last, for a total of 147 inches, with 45 inches alone falling since March 24. For more information on conditions, open terrain and the forecast for the weekend, visit the Sipapu website.
