Sipapu Resort / Los Alamos County Partnership Pondered for Pajarito Ski Hill

Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort managing partner James Coleman, left, and Los Alamos County Administrator Harry Burgess at Wednesday’s public meeting at the Pajarito Mountain Ski Lodge where discussion of a partnership took place. Sipapu is a family friendly resort 20 miles southeast of Taos that offers year-round activities. Sipapu and Los Alamos County presented the possibility of partnering together to take over the struggling Pajarito Mountain Ski Hill. With Sipapu providing the majority of an estimated $5-7 million investment to secure water for snow making, improve lift infrastructure and a variety of other needed upgrades, the partnership indicates the ski hill could thrive once again. ‘I love this mountain and think it’s one of the greatest assets in the state,’ Coleman said.
