SFNF News:

The Santa Fe National Forest is seeking customer-service minded, hardworking individuals to serve as campground hosts. Please apply before the 2026 season begining on May 1, 2026.

The volunteer campground host season is the first week of May through mid-October. Interested applicants can apply on volunteer.gov by entering Santa Fe National Forest into the search engine to view the list of campground locations.

Volunteer campground hosts work 40 hours per week to assist campers by providing information and answering questions about the campground and local area. They monitor the campground as the “eyes and ears” of the forest when forest employees are unavailable. We may ask hosts to collect fees from campers and perform light maintenance duties on the campground. Most importantly, it’s a great opportunity to spend quality time in the beautiful mountains, valleys and mesas of the Santa Fe National Forest.

Campground hosts receive the Enchantment Pass after their first 40 hours, providing fee-free access to all day-use sites in the five National Forests of New Mexico. Hosts will also receive a $25/day reimbursement for living expenses.

For Santa Fe National Forest updates, visit the forest website and social media pages: Facebook and X.
