SFCC Hosts Graduation Ceremony For EPA Environmental Technician Training Thursday Oct. 21

SFCC News:

SFCC announces the Graduation Ceremony for EPA Environmental Technician Training 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 21 at Santa Fe Higher Education Center, 1950 Siringo Road.

Graduates participated in free five-week EPA grant-sponsored training to become job-ready.

Cost: Free. (Everyone will wear masks and practice social distancing.)

Graduates will receive certifications in the following:

  • General Hazardous Waste Site Worker (HAZWOPER)
  • Forklift Operator
  • OSHA Construction Standards
  • Confined Space Entry and Non-Entry Rescue
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA)
  • Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments
  • Environmental Sampling
  • DOT HazMat

In addition to the 172 hours of training, attendees met with environmental employers and Department of Workforce Solutions staff to provide guidance on résumé preparation and job interviewing skills.
