SFCC News:
SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College Financial Aid Department will host two FAFSA Open Houses Thursday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 16. Both events will be from 2 to 7 p.m., in Room 611E. The public is welcome to attend the free drop-in events. Staff members will be available to answer questions as well as guide individuals and their families through the process of submitting the 2025-2026 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Federal student financial aid is evaluated based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Every student is required to complete a FAFSA for each academic year to be considered for federal or state financial aid.
SFCC Financial Aid Coordinator J. Andrew Arellano said, “We’re happy to help anyone in the community with the FAFSA form. Our team is particularly eager to work with prospective and returning students looking to enroll at SFCC. Most of our students are eligible for financial aid but often don’t recognize how important it is to fill out the FAFSA form in a timely fashion.”
Recommended items to have on hand:
- Student Social Security (SSN) number
- Driver’s license, if available
- For returning students, passwords to FAFSA login
- Parent(s) date of birth, SSN and email address
- Date parents were married, remarried, separated, divorced or widowed
Note: Both parent and student information should be used if the student is under 24 years old and not married or independent. SFCC offers dozens of scholarships. Regardless of your eligibility for aid determined by FASFA, you may be eligible for an SFCC Foundation scholarship. There are many grants also available.
