SANTA FE ― Do you want to be a hero to a homeless dog or cat this July 4th holiday? Starting today through July 4, Best Friends Animal Society is giving pet lovers an opportunity to “Pay It Forward” by covering the $25 adoption fee for a future family at more than 260 of its network of rescues and shelters across the country, including the Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
“If you get excited when a stranger pays for your coffee, imagine the joy you’ll bring to someone who is ready to adopt their next best friend and finds out the adoption fee has been covered,” said Julie Castle, chief executive officer of Best Friends Animal Society.
Adopting is another way to help homeless animals. Those that are ready to adopt can find dogs and cats with fee waived adoptions starting today to July 4 at Santa Fe Animal Shelter. From playful youngsters to sweet seniors, pets from Santa Fe Animal Shelter are neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready to go home immediately. “This campaign is special to us because we are not only helping the animals we currently have at the Shelter with fee-waived adoptions, but we are also helping the next adoptable family with a discount on an upcoming adoption,” says Murad Kirdar, Public Relations Officer of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. “The pay it forward idea is a great way to help not only animals, but people too.”
All adult animals over the age of 6-months are will be fee waived at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. Puppies, kittens and Shelter Heroes are half off the adoption fee.
Best Friends is encouraging people to Pay It Forward as part of its Save Them All campaign to save the lives of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.
