COUNTY News:

Senior Appreciation Night (SAN) is in need of funding and/or volunteers for the event on May 25, 2024. Volunteers and public donations to this non-profit event are needed to help keep the event fun and safe for graduating high school seniors.

First created in 1984, the goal of SAN has been to create a fun and safe environment for community youth to celebrate such a significant milestone in their young lives, and has become a staple of the community since. The Los Alamos community is, and always has been, an integral part of supporting SAN via local business funding, donations, and volunteer work.

Without the support of the community, SAN would not be where it is today. All donations of both funding and volunteer work have kept this event accessible, safe, and entertaining for our graduating seniors for 40 years.

This year, volunteers are needed at a variety of stations throughout the night. From the YMCA Carnival to movies at SALA, interested volunteers can select where and when they are available to support this exciting night.

Those interested in volunteering or donating can visit the YMCA SAN website here. The public is also invited to the next SAN committee meeting to learn more about plans and needs for the night. The meeting is 11 a.m. on April 30 at the Aquatic Center.
