Self Help Receives Grant from Santa Fe Community Foundation

SELF HELP News:

Self Help, Inc. has received a $5,000 grant from Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Community Leadership Fund to expand coverage of the 2-1-1 information and referral service to Santa Fe, Taos, Mora and San Miguel Counties. 

The Community Leadership Fund allows the Foundation to provide important services to improve the community by enhancing Foundation grantmaking, improving nonprofit performance, and increasing donor impact.

The 2-1-1 information and referral service provides callers with referrals to locate food, clothing, housing, home repairs, clothing, childcare, mental health services, resources for youth, and assistance with medical costs.  

The service is available by toll-free phone or on the web at www.referweb.net/unnm. Self Help, United Way of Central New Mexico and United Way of Northern New Mexico currently cover Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties.

The Santa Fe Community Foundation collaborates with seven other 2-1-1 programs funded by regional United Way organizations to complete statewide 2-1-1 coverage.
