COMMUNITY News:
Today at 6:30 p.m. at Karen McLaughlin Hall, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (3700 Canyon Road) will be hosting Lee Gordon, co-founder of Hand in Hand—an organization in Israel promoting peace through cooperative education of children of the various ethnicities and faiths in Israel.
The organization’s stated mission is “to create a strong and inclusive shared society in Israel through a network of Jewish-Arab integrated bilingual schools and organized communities.”
Per their website (www.handinhandk12.org), they currently operate integrated schools and communities in five locations, with 1,100 Jewish and Arab students and more than 3,000 community members.
This presentation is meant both to inform and to raise funds for their efforts. Especially with recent events in mind, there is no better time for us to help them move forward in promoting peace among the peoples of the Holy Land. Light refreshments will be provided. Hope to see you there!
