Right now members of the Los Alamos County Councilors are considering proposed budgets for FY2013 and projected budgets for FY2014 for five more County departments:

Community Development, Administrative Services, Non-Departmental, Capital Projects and Facilities and Public Works.

Councilor Vincent Chiravalle is participating in the meeting via telephone. Chair Sharon Stover, Vice Chair Ron Selvage, Councilor Mike Wismer, Councilor Fran Berting, Councilor Geoff Rodgers and Councilor David Izraelevitz are present in Council Chambers this evening.

The meeting began at 6 p.m. and because there were no citizens who came forward for the 30 minutes at the beginning of the meeting set aside for public comment, tonight’s meeting is expected to run until 9:30 p.m. rather than 10 p.m.

Los Alamos County Administrator Harry Burgess, in foreground, and Acting County Attorney Brian James are on hand to answer questions posed by the council related to the various department budgets.

The Community Development Department budget is currently under discussion.
