ALBUQUERQUE — The nonprofit Film & TV Expo announced its second annual Film & TV Expo, inviting the public to view demonstrations of a wide variety of skills required for television and movie production.
Sponsored by IATSE Local 480, SAG-AFTRA,
Teamsters 399, IATSE Locals 423 (stagecraft), 600 (camera), 800 (art directors) and industry vendors, the Expo open house will include a demonstration set, basecamp tours, and hands-on activities for the public to experience the expertise and artistry of New Mexico filmmakers.
“With the Expo, we are throwing open the doors to the film industry,” announces Rebecca “Puck” Stair, President of the Film & TV Expo and of IATSE Local 480. “The Expo offers a unique behind the-scenes opportunity to meet the technicians who make movies magic, and maybe try a little moviemaking yourself. Everyone is welcome!”
Also attending: NM film offices, film schools, film equipment and gear, food trucks and more.
The Expo will be held 12-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Local 480 Training Center, 8430 Washington Pl NE, Albuquerque, rain or shine. Admission is free and families are welcome. Most of the event is outdoors in the open air.
